Well bit of a disappointment with the trip in so much as getting any positive reaction from Aldo,but there you are I know Roy had a chat with him and I managed to get to speak to Aldo in both the HQ and in the garden gazebo.And I must say I saw a different Aldo than that of a few years ago,gone was the enthusiasm and it seemed as if he was going through the motions not really bothered but he did say to me he was not happy over what is going on in 26 div,but speaking to him he seems to believe that within the next year or maybe two things will calm down and,he tends to see the members who div HQ have are not active and are not bothered as to how or who is running the division.But until there is a clear majority on the side of RVA then he will take no action ,as he does not want to upset any members who have been in the group for a long time.
On the other hand he did go up to the HQ every morning and spend a lot of time working with the 8 computers he has all connected up to his monitor and getting cards and programmes printed off so he still does a lot of work for the group as a whole.and he did say to me that when there is no probergation as in the last 10 or more years groups loose their operators if there is no organisation,I expect he was referring to other countries at this point the ones with 1 or 2 members.But when speaking to him about our situation he just shrugged his shoulders and basically said that at this time he will do nothing things have a way of correcting themselves,but he did say he was surprised by the amount of RVA members there now were and both Roy and I requested he check the list to which official 26 div had given as there maybe a good number who have renewed through Asti.There were members from other divisions who came up to both Roy and I asking what is going on in the England division is there now two groups?after explaining to our best ability they all said this is wrong Aldo should do something to get this problem sorted out as if it continues then any other division who may have problems could end up divided and this is not good for the group.To which we agreed.We arrived at Aldo's house Wednesday afternoon had a meal with him his wife and a couple of VPs and their wife's and were there again the next morning speaking about the situation so we could not have done any more.
